AT&T will provide several fan amenities at the 2008 tournament to enhance the on- and off-course experience of tournament visitors, carried over from the extremely successful maiden 2007 AT&T Classic, following AT&T’s acquisition of former tournament sponsor, BellSouth.

Amenities that enhance the experience of spectators include the AT&T Wireless Caddie, the AT&T Fan Zone and the AT&T Digital Leaderboard at Atlantic Station.

The AT&T Wireless Caddie

With this complimentary AT&T wireless smartphone, spectators can obtain statistics, course maps, pairings and updated tournament scoring, as well as access AT&T content, games and messaging.

AT&T is loaning the devices at no charge to spectators visiting the AT&T Fan Zone at the AT&T Classic. The use of these AT&T Wireless Caddies is free of charge; the Caddies will be available on a first-come, first-served basis for those who visit the AT&T Fan Zone behind the 18th green.

The AT&T Fan Zone

From this high-tech venue, spectators are able to experience what the true “digital lifestyle” is all about, while taking a break from the action and still enjoying the AT&T Classic ultimate experience..

By integrating services and content across the three critical screens that are the most important to consumers — the Personal Computer, television and wireless phone — AT&T gave fans a sneak peak at the future of convergence at the 2007 AT&T Classic.

This will once again take place at the 2008 event, where fans will be able to demo AT&T broadband products to watch high-definition television, check email, browse the Internet or make phone calls through AT&T broadband and high-speed wireless connections.

The 100 x 70 foot area will be strategically located behind the 18th green. Those interested in improving their golf game can receive a personalized swing analysis with the ability to view the full video session from AT&T blue room portal in the comfort of their own home. The Wireless Caddies will also be distributed from this location, and fans can purchase additional AT&T services or have one of the company representatives check details of their AT&T accounts.

The AT&T Digital Leaderboard at Atlantic Station

As a way to give more golf fans around Atlanta the chance to get into the tournament action, in 2007 AT&T set up a live digital leaderboard at The Central Park of Atlantic Station in downtown Atlanta, for the duration of the AT&T Classic tournament. This facility will be offered once more in 2008.

Tickets to the AT&T Classic will be sold on-site and free transportation shuttles will be provided to the tournament courtesy of AT&T. Fans can also receive a personalised swing analysis and practice putting on the 30 x 20 putting green.
